Excuses, excuses

I used every one of them. Excuses, that is.
Busy, tonsillitis, vacation, or the best one of all.

“Not Today. I’ll Do It Tomorrow”.

This isn’t about writing. This is about exercising on my treadmill.

My current wip suffered along with my lazy ways. For me, Butt In Chair, the necessary element to a writer, meant blogging, checking other blogs and Amazon music, and research of improbable new tools.

I signed up even though Ambition rolled its eyes. This path was very familiar.

I snarled, dug deep, and cut back on goofing off the intensive research and wrote through several sticking points in my manuscript. My intended antag slapped me upside the head and told me to look elsewhere for the mastermind of all mayhem.

*OT- Don’t you LOVE those Allstate ‘mayhem’ commercials? Especially the ‘blind spot’. LOL*

Okay, we’re back.

To make a short story long, I had to buy a ticket to ride the roller coaster. Or muscle my way in since the Muse had left me. Once again I turned to my treadmill to clear and focus my mind. See here for an earlier post regarding this phenomenon.

Since then, my Stats returned to the land of Satisfactory:

Beginning Word Count: 76,225

End of Week One: 78,393
Week Two: 82,610
Week Three: 88,100

Bonus:  two miles every day and minus ten pounds.

Birth of a Novel + Lady Gaga + Treadmill = Completion of a MS.

  7. Awesome numbers, Huntress! For both the novel and the pounds burned.

By the way, I think I found your 10 pounds. They followed a slew of desserts I couldn't help myself to. Don't worry about them though, they will be well taken care of lol!!!

    Keep of the writing!!!

  8. I like the Mayham commercial you linked, I love it because when you first see her driving along, she's humming, HUMMING! Those little things are what I love really. (I love the one where he's a teenage girl and Johnny just kissed her BFF, and "he doesn't even think she's cute!!" OMG! hahaha!

Your word count is ginormous! Good for you on your book and Treadmill, I wish I had as much gusto as you! Congratulations on completing NaNo (though I think I said that last week, but your determination is awesome and should be congratulated again!)

  9. Yaaaaaaaaaaaaay! You should be so proud of yourself! Not only did you work on your novel, but your exercise goals too!

I have recently started doing that, where if I am being too lazy at the computer I get up and do housework. At least something is getting done, right?

    Congratulations! *throws confetti*
