These are the continuing voyages of the Ninja Captain, AJC. His mission, to explore all new writing venues, to seek out new authors and new blogs.
To boldly go where no blogateer has gone before.
Coming together on the first Wednesday of every month for a virtual pat on the back.
Routines are about the hardest chore. I try, I really try but sometimes stuff gets in the way.
My daily goal is to get all my stuff done by 9 am then spend two hours plus writing. After noon, I start in again about 1 – 1:30 and continue until 4-ish.

But Life doesn’t work that way and interference results. Cows have calves, toilets
overflow, and cats need a trip to the vet. Grownup kid calls and spouses want a
hand fixing the tractor. Weather interferes. Computer goes loony tunes.
But more likely the interference begins with shiny objects, the proverbial Squirrel! Oh well.
B.I.C. is still the best advice. Avoiding Facebook is the
other.
Spouses though...What can you do when he says, “Hey honey.
Did you know its national Pillow Fight day?” *sigh*
HTML and other
strange letters. Do you know how to leave a comment with a link to your
blog? It is an efficient way to tie your name to your site.
I’ve clicked on names that
takes me to multiple blogs or Google+. If you sign off with a link, it directs people to your blog. Way easier.

A
to Z. My blog—Spirit Called—is not participating this year, but Unicorn Bell
is. Wander over there for our posts.
I do try to keep my writing routine (which is approximately 8-12, break for lunch, 2-5) but like you said, life occasionally has other plans. Usually my cats throwing up on things.
ReplyDeleteI create a sign off every year I participate in A to Z, and then I usually forget about it by the second day. Which is exactly what I did this year.
Note to Self: When reading comments from M.J., don't be in the act of drinking coffee.
Delete*still laughing@"...usually my cats throwing up on things..."
Pillow fight day - sure, why not?
ReplyDeleteWhen I'm working on a story, it's three hours every night after guitar practice no matter what.
I do know how to make a link in my comment, just too lazy to do so. At least when you click on my name, you won't go to Google+ and get lost...
Concentration is the key. Break it with comments about it being Pillow Fight Day (a real event I guess), and whatever mental scene I was in is now gone.
DeleteAbout Google+: aint that the truth
I try to write every day. Used to be easier. But I have more stuff finished now than I did then, so something's working.
ReplyDeleteOne way to make having a blogging signature easier is to put the code in a Notepad doc. Save to desktop, and then it's just a matter of copy/paste to add the signature to every blog post. I only do that for blogs I don't normally comment on. Should I do it for every blog comment?
I did the copy and paste thing in Word.
DeleteFor some reason I can't show the code on this post. Hence the link.
I try to stick to a routine, but really, I could use Rick yelling at me sometimes! Today is out of whack because I'm co-hosting IWSG, but tomorrow hopefully I'll get into the groove.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a routine keeper, but I still seem to run into the same problems...something always needs done. ARRGH!
ReplyDeleteLife does get in the way of our writing. I am trying to write everyday, trying to stick to a routine. Lets hope I am able to do so. Hope you get lots of writing done.
